Land Clearing
Forestry Mulching in Hampton Roads, VA
Clear dense brush and small trees in a single pass, and leave the ground covered in natural mulch instead of burn piles.
Free written estimates. Licensed & insured. Serving Hampton Roads and beyond.

Forestry Mulching cuts and grinds brush, vines, saplings and small trees right where they stand. Everything is reduced to a layer of mulch spread across the cleared area, so there is far less material to pile, burn or truck away.
It's a strong fit for fence lines, trails, overgrown pasture, lot lines and understory clearing. Because the root systems stay in place and the ground is covered, mulching disturbs the soil less than traditional clearing and helps hold it against erosion.
When to Call for Forestry Mulching
Brush Has Taken Over
Thick growth makes a property hard to walk, survey or maintain. Mulching opens it up without leaving piles of cut brush behind.
Saplings Are Filling in Open Ground
Young trees spread fast across fields and lot edges. Mulching knocks them back while they're still small enough to process in place.
You Need a Trail or Fence Line
Clearing a strip for a new fence, path or survey line is quick work for a mulcher and leaves a clean, walkable surface.
You Want to Protect the Soil
On slopes or soft ground, leaving roots in place and a mulch layer on top keeps the soil where it belongs.
How Forestry Mulching Works
A machine with a heavy rotating mulching head cuts and grinds brush and small trees where they stand, in one pass. The chips stay on the ground as a protective layer.
No burn piles, no burn permits, no smoke, no truckloads of debris.
Why Landowners Choose It
- One pass, one machine, so jobs move fast.
- Less erosion: the mulch layer shields soil from rain, which matters on slopes and near water.
- Selective: keep the trees you want and clear everything around them.
- Healthier ground: the mulch breaks down and returns nutrients to the soil.
Great For
- Overgrown lots and fields
- Trails, fence lines and property lines
- Underbrush in wooded lots
- Hunting land, pasture and food plots
- Right-of-way and utility corridors
When It's Not the Right Fit
Very large trees and big stumps may need traditional cutting and stump grinding first. If you're building, the site may also need stump removal and grading.

How the Work Goes
Look at the Site
We check vegetation density, slopes, soft spots, larger trees and anything that needs protecting before the machine goes in.
Set the Limits
Boundaries, keeper trees, structures and utilities are marked so the work stays focused on what needs to go.
Mulch the Growth
The mulcher works through the brush and smaller woody growth, grinding it into mulch spread over the cleared ground.
Check the Finish
We review the area for missed spots or leftover obstacles and talk through any follow-up work.

Forestry Mulching Questions
More questions? See our general FAQs or call 804-338-2089.
What can Forestry Mulching handle?
Brush, briars, vines, saplings and smaller trees. Larger trees may need to be cut down first and handled separately; we'll tell you up front.
Does the mulch have to be hauled away?
Usually not. The mulch stays on the ground, where it breaks down naturally and helps control erosion and regrowth.
Can you mulch on a slope?
Often, yes. Steepness, soil conditions and access all matter, so we look at slopes in person before quoting.
How is Forestry Mulching priced?
Per job, based on area, density and terrain. You get a written estimate before any work begins.
