Tree Removal in Hampton Roads, VA
Dead, leaning and storm-damaged trees taken down safely, even when they're close to your house.
Free written estimates. Licensed & insured. Serving Hampton Roads and beyond.
Some trees can't be saved. Dead, dying, hollow, leaning or storm-damaged trees become a real risk to homes, vehicles and people, and a tree in the wrong spot can block construction, driveways or sunlight.
Before we cut, we look at the tree, what's around it and where it can safely come down. Trees with open space around them can be felled in one piece. Trees near houses, fences or sheds are taken down in controlled sections.
When to Call for Tree Removal
The Tree Is Dead or Dying
Bare branches, peeling bark, fungus at the base or a hollow trunk are signs a tree is getting weaker and more likely to fail.
It's Leaning Toward Something
A tree leaning toward your house, garage or driveway, especially with cracked soil at the base, should be looked at soon.
A Storm Damaged It
Split trunks, hanging tops and uprooted trees need to come down before they finish falling on their own.
It's in the Way of a Project
New additions, driveways, pools and sheds often need a tree removed first.
Fungus or Soft Spots
Mushrooms on the trunk or roots, cavities, or wood that crumbles often mean rot inside, where you can't see it.
The Ground Is Lifting
Soil mounding or cracking on one side of the base means the roots may be pulling loose.
It's Damaging Your Property
Roots lifting a foundation, driveway, patio or sewer line.
You Trim It Every Year Just to Keep It Safe
Repeated trimming on a failing tree adds up. One removal can cost less than years of patch jobs.
Is a Tree Too Close to Your House?
A good rule of thumb: if a tree is taller than its distance to your house, it could reach the house if it falls. That doesn't mean it has to come down, but it's worth an inspection.
Tall pines are especially vulnerable in Hampton Roads: saturated sandy soil loosens their roots, and they often snap mid-trunk in high winds. Pines left standing alone after nearby trees were cleared catch the full force of the wind.
The best time to remove risky trees is spring, before hurricane season starts June 1, when crews aren't booked solid after storms.
Tree Fell on Your House?
Call 911 first if anyone is hurt or trapped, you smell gas, see fire, or power lines are down.
Get everyone out, stay at least 35 feet from downed lines, take photos, call your insurance company, then call us 24/7 at 804-338-2089.

How the Work Goes
Assess the Tree
We look at size, lean, condition and everything within reach of the tree if it falls.

We decide whether the tree can be felled whole or needs to come down in sections, and how to protect what's nearby.
Take It Down
The tree is cut and lowered in a controlled way, with the work area kept clear.
